Recipe For Singaporean Chilli Crab!

You can cook authentic Singaporean chilli crab even in your kitchen! To cook this crab dish, you need a paste which has all the five-fundamental taste of sweet, sour, spicy, salty and umami! In spite of its name, this dish is really not that spicy. The gravy is cooked in a thick, sweet and savory sauce which has a slight tinge of spiciness. It is ordinarily served with deep fried or steamed Chinese buns otherwise called 'mantao'.

Jeremy Lee Chen Seong discusses the recipe in the post below. Read on!

Step 1: Stir cornstarch in 2 tablespoon water. In a large wok, heat oil in medium flame. Add shallots, ginger, garlic, and chillies and cook until 1 minute.
Step 2: Add broth and crab pieces. Cover loosely and let the dish boil until crab turns red and nearly cooked about 6 minutes.
Step 3: Add tomato paste and chilli sauce; add seasonings and cornstarch and stir till it thickens.
Step 4: Turn off the heat. Stir with eggs and green onions. Serve with sprinkled Chinese parsley.
